Magic the gathering (Forest) Close Encounter #0176 - Edge of Eternities - MTG Card (English) Uncommon

Close Encounter #0176 is an uncommon green Instant from Magic: The Gathering — Edge of Eternities. It costs 1 (one generic mana and one green mana). As an additional cost to cast it, you choose a creature you control or a warped creature card you own in exile. Close Encounter then deals damage equal to the chosen creature’s or card’s power to target creature. This makes it an efficient removal spell, especially in decks that use large creatures or the Warp mechanic to generate value from cards in exile.

Set in the science-fiction world of Edge of Eternities, Close Encounter features artwork by Inkognit and explores the dangerous interactions between living creatures and alien environments. Its low mana cost and flexible interaction with warped cards make it a useful option for green creature-focused decks, as well as a collectible for players completing the set. The standard non-foil printing was released in August 2025.
